Taste true farm-to-table products from Icelandic soil. Efstidalur serves beef and dairy products made on the farm. Grass is grown down the hill and fed to our cattle. EFSTIDALUR PRODUCTS
At Efstidalur, we take pride in offering premium beef products directly from our family farm. Our cattle are raised with care in the Icelandic countryside, ensuring the highest quality meat. We grow grass on our fields down the hill which we feed to our animals. As local as it can possible get.
Producing animal food locally means we reduce our carbon footprint significantly. Doing this creates a climate-friendly way of food production.

Golden Circle Neighbours
We believe in the power of community and the richness of local flavors. Being a restaurant near Geysir, we believe in partnering with neighboring farms in the Golden Circle area.
At Efstidalur, we don’t grow vegetables except grass. The Golden Circle is home to numerous farmers growing tropical vegetables. Yes, tropical vegetables in the Arctic. Our neighbours have a tomato farm for example. This is possible due to geothermal-powered greenhouses. Using geothermal energy to create the right climate in greenhouses is a sustainable, climate-friendly way of farming.

Menu
The Efstidalur menu is focused on products we produce ourselves. Beef used in any dish is Efstidalur beef. We play around with using dairy products in our meals. The Skyr Burger comes with a homemade skyr patty on top and a skyr sauce. Even the chili con carne is served with skyr cream instead of sour cream. This is how we try to give traditional meals an Icelandic twist!

When do you bulls get slaughtered?
Our bulls usually get slaughtered at an age of 18-24 months.
What steak do you have?
Since we grow our own meat, we always have different cuts available. Ask our waiter what steak we have available today.
How about allergies?
We can accommodate all food allergies. We can provid food for people with gluten, nut and lactose allergies.
Is there contamination?
Yes. We have to inform all our guests that there’s always a small risk of contamination. Please, inform our waiter about the severity of your allergy.
Do I need to make a reservation?
There’s no need to make reservations for a group of 10 persons or smaller. If your group is larger than 10 people, we kindly ask you to make a reservation through phone or email.
